Xanthoula Dakovanou is a singer and composer with an international career. She has so far recorded three albums in Paris and one in Athens – Trio Tzane/Gaïtani (Naïve, 2010), Xanthoula Dakovanou/La Dame et la Barque (UVM, 2015), Xanthoula Dakovanou/Lamenta, from Epirus traditions to world jazz (UVM, 2021) and RIZITUALS, inspired from cretan vocal traditions (MOUSA//UVM, 2024). She has participated in 13 more records across Europe as a guest performer.

Her work as a composer-arranger (Lamenta, Song of Songs, Rizituals) has received the patronage of the Ministry of Culture three times to date (2021, 2022, 2023) and has received excellent reviews from the international press, while she has been distinguished in world music charts. Her works have been presented at the Avignon Festival (FR, 2022), Paris La Villette (2022), Athens Epidaurus Festival (2021), Paris Théâtre du Châtelet (2011), Les Suds à Arles (2010), All Greece One Culture etc.

The special repertoire that inspires her are the vocal traditions of Greece, the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean and her compositions are contemporary musical works based on these traditions. He has collaborated with renowned artists internationally, such as Armand Amar, Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Magic Malik, Richard Galliano, Jean-François Zygel, Ballaké Sissoko, Efren Lopez as well as the greek musicians Nikos Filippidis, Ourania Lampropoulou, Dimos Vougioukas, Kostas Gakis, Martha Frintzila, Dimitris Sideris, Sofia Efkleidou, Solis Barki etc. but also choreographers such as Koen Augustijnen, Rosalba Torres Guerrero and Taxiarchis Vasilakos.
She is the artistic director of the Kerasovo Festival in Epirus since 2017.

Her musical works are influenced by the special perspective of psychoanalysis, shedding light on the hidden sides of the human unconscious through musical expression.

Xanthoula holds a degree in Medicine (University of Athens) specializing in Psychiatry, holds a Master’s in Music Therapy (University Paris 5) and a PhD in ‘Music and Psychoanalysis’ (University Sorbonne), while she teaches voice and music therapy at the Sorbonne University Paris 5, at the Institute Music Therapy of Nantes, France as well as the e-learnig department of the N.K.U.A. University. To date, he is the author of 10 scientific articles on voice, psychoanalysis and music therapy, as well as 2 chapters in international scientific books.
